Dr. Jun-jong Lee, a PhD graduate of the TEAM Laboratory for future devices and circuits in the POSTECH Department of Electrical Engineering, advised by Professor Rock-Hyun Baek, joined the School of Electrical Engineering at Kookmin University as an assistant professor in February 2026.

Over the past six years, Dr. Lee studied advanced logic devices for technology nodes below 3 nm, including gate-all-around (GAA) nanosheet FETs (NSFETs) and complementary FETs (CFETs), under Professor Baek. Dr. Lee achieved outstanding results in back-side power delivery networks (BS-PDN), a key approach to overcoming semiconductor scaling limits. After earning a PhD in 2025, Dr. Lee further developed international research experience as a postdoctoral researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States.

During doctoral studies, Dr. Lee published five papers in prominent SCI journals, including IEEE Electron Device Letters. In particular, Dr. Lee attracted academic attention with two first-author papers at the IEEE VLSI Symposium and one at IEDM, among the world’s most prestigious semiconductor conferences. These achievements were recognized with the Bum-Man Kim Award for the best doctoral dissertation.

At Kookmin University, Dr. Lee plans to focus on research and education in next-generation logic semiconductor devices and interconnects, contributing to Korea’s competitiveness in advanced semiconductor technology.
