Jeong-bin Lim, a Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Nam-yoon Lee, received the third KICS HFR Paper Grand Prize for “Space-Time Beamforming for Uplink Direct-to-Cell Connectivity in Dense LEO Satellite Networks.”

The Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences established the award to identify and nurture outstanding communications engineering talent early and help Korea build world-leading competitiveness and technological capabilities.

Sponsored by communications company HFR, winning papers are selected through rigorous and fair written and presentation evaluations. The lead author receives KRW 5 million and the advisor KRW 10 million.

The award was presented at the KICS Fall Conference's regular general meeting on November 20, 2025, at Lahan Select Gyeongju.
