Professor Yo-sep Jeon of POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering received the Young Researcher Award at the 2025 Conference on Information and Control Systems (CICS), jointly organized by the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers.

This prestigious award recognizes young researchers with outstanding achievements in information and control. Professor Jeon was honored for pioneering research and academic contributions in semantic communication and AI/ML-based next-generation wireless communication technologies.

The ceremony took place during CICS 2025 at Del Pino Resort in Sokcho, October 22–25, 2025. In an accompanying invited session, he presented “Semantic Communication: Meaning-Centered Information Transmission Technologies and Applications.”
