Jaewon Yoon and Sihyeon Ha, integrated MS/PhD students in POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering (advisor: Professor Yosep Jeon), have been selected for the 2025 Science and Engineering Academic Research Support Program administered by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
The program aims to strengthen the capabilities of future researchers by supporting creative and challenging research led by master’s and doctoral students. Projects undergo rigorous evaluation and selection, primarily based on the originality of their research plans and potential academic contributions.
Yoon was selected for the Doctoral Student Research Encouragement Grant Program. He will conduct “Research on Optimizing an Anti-Jamming Framework for OFDM Systems through Deep-Learning-Based Jamming Pattern Prediction” with KRW 25 million in research funding over one year.
Ha was selected for the Master’s Student Research Encouragement Grant Program. Ha will conduct “Research on Communication-Efficient LoRA Techniques for Federated Fine-Tuning of Foundation Models” with KRW 12 million in research funding over one year.
The Wireless Communications and Machine Learning Laboratory (advisor: Professor Yosep Jeon) also had doctoral student Yongjeong Oh and master’s student Jaehong Cho selected for the 2024 program. The laboratory has thus produced multiple successful applicants for two consecutive years.
