Press release: Professor Ki-hong Lim's team in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering has been selected for a 2011 KICS Outstanding Paper Award.
Paper: “A Mode Selection Scheme for Receive Antenna Combining in a Multiple-Transmit/Receive-Antenna Downlink Channel,” by Moon-sik Min, Dong-sik Kim, and Ki-hong Lim, POSTECH.
At last year's KICS Fall Conference, the team proposed a receive-combining technique to improve data rates in next-generation mobile communication systems. Based on multi-user MIMO systems, the approach combines mode selection with conventional reception techniques to efficiently increase throughput.
Approximately 400 papers were presented across various fields, and four were selected for Outstanding Paper Awards. The ceremony is scheduled for the summer conference in Jeju in June.
