Special lecture by Oh-chul Kwon, CEO of Hynix Semiconductor.
Date and time: Friday, November 26, 16:00–17:30.
Venue: Medium Auditorium, Information and Communications Building.
The lecture examined changes in the IT paradigm as convergence deepens between people, objects, spaces, and IT: from digital to smart, from networked to mobile, and from multimedia to supermedia. It also explored the future direction of the non-memory and memory semiconductor industries as processing power and data throughput increase rapidly.
An engaging discussion covered challenges for science and engineering students and future research organizations, including the move toward single-chip integration and intensifying competition in non-memory semiconductors, the limits of single-chip integration in memory, and continued growth of the memory industry driven by rising demand.
