Samsung Electronics Executive Tae-moon Roh Receives the Proud Samsung Employee Award

Distinguished alumnus Tae-moon Roh: Promotion to Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics and recipient of the Proud Samsung Employee Award.

Tae-moon Roh, who earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1997 in Professor Bumman Kim's Microwave Circuits Laboratory and served as a Samsung Electronics Senior Vice President in the Mobile Communications Development Team, received the Technology Award at the 2010 Proud Samsung Employee Awards ceremony on January 1.

The Technology Award recognizes employees who develop world-class core technologies and strengthen future technological competitiveness. Roh was recognized for developing the Galaxy S smartphone through software that improved its distinctive graphics performance and the implementation of low-power technologies.

Following the award, Roh was promoted to Executive Vice President in Samsung Group's executive promotions below the vice-chairman level.
