Professor Kyeongcheol Yang of POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) has become the first researcher affiliated with a Korean institution to be appointed an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, an international journal published by IEEE, the largest academic organization in electrical and electronic engineering.
Specializing in communications and information theory, IEEE Transactions on Information Theory is one of the most authoritative journals in electrical engineering. It is also known for having the highest Eigenfactor and total citation count among all electrical engineering journals published by IEEE.
An authority on error-control technologies and sequence development for digital communication systems, including mobile and satellite communication systems, Professor Yang will oversee the review and editing of papers on sequence research. His three-year term began in August 2012.
