The E-Car Research Group, established as a university research institute on June 1, 2010, and led by Electrical Engineering Professor Kwang-hee Nam, held the opening ceremony for its Seoul office on February 15, 2011, in Room 1101 of IT Premier Tower, Gasan Digital Complex, Seoul.
Attendees at the sign-unveiling ceremony included POSTECH President Sung-gi Baek; POSCO Executive Woo-sik Jeon; RIST Energy and Environment Director Jin-goon Son; POSCO ICT President Nam-seok Hur; POSCO TMC President Byeong-hyo Jang; IT Engineering President Wan-sik Yoon; Dean of Academic Affairs Jin-soo Lee; and Electrical Engineering Professors Sang-cheol Won and Sang-woo Kim.
The program comprised Director Nam's welcome, an introduction to the group and Korea's electric vehicle development direction, President Baek's congratulatory remarks, sign unveiling, demonstrations of major results, and refreshments.
The Seoul office is expected to help the group advance the Electric Power Train (EPT) project under POSCO's strategic research program and produce stronger research outcomes.
