The Journal of Semiconductor Technology and Science (JSTS), the English-language semiconductor journal of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea, has been accepted for Science Citation Index (SCI) indexing, gaining international recognition. POSTECH Electrical Engineering Professor Hong-June Park serves as Editor-in-Chief.
Under President Sung-Dae Kim, the institute has pursued internationalization through SCI indexing, stronger overseas networks, and greater financial independence. After ten years of effort, JSTS has become Korea’s first SCI-indexed journal in the semiconductor field.
Published since 2001, JSTS was previously led by Professors Gui-Ro Lee of KAIST and Kukjin Chun of Seoul National University. Professor Park has served as Editor-in-Chief since January 2009.
President Kim welcomed the indexing at a time when a journal supporting the scale and standing of Korea’s semiconductor industry was urgently needed. He credited support from the Haedong Science and Culture Foundation, National Research Foundation of Korea, Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Hynix Semiconductor.
Founded in 1946, the institute has more than 30,000 registered members and is a leading Korean IT academic society. Sixty-five organizations, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, related companies, and research institutes, are special members. Website: http://www.jsts.org
