2016 Electrical Engineering Freshman Mentoring Program (FMP)

The Department of Electrical Engineering operates FMP to help first-year undergraduates, including students admitted without a declared major, develop a sense of belonging and pride in the department and adapt effectively to university life. Senior students serve as mentors, helping incoming student mentees acquire information and basic knowledge about university life and the major.

All first-year Electrical Engineering students must participate. Any interested student admitted without a declared major who wishes to learn about electrical engineering may also join. We encourage your interest and active participation.

First-semester 2016 FMP period: March 14–June 14, 2016, with one meeting per week for a total of 12 meetings.

Mentees: Mandatory for all first-year Electrical Engineering undergraduates; optional for interested students admitted without a declared major.

Event: Friday, March 11, 2016, from 6:40 p.m.

Venue: Auditorium, Room 101, LG Research Building.

Participants: Selected first-semester 2016 mentees and mentors; attendance is mandatory.

Main activities: Mentor appointment certificate presentation, introduction to the first-semester FMP curriculum, and group meetings.
