Electrical Engineering Secures Korea's First ANSYS Software Donation

Led by the Department of Electrical Engineering, POSTECH has received Korea's first donation of ANSYS software from ANSYS: 500 research licenses and 5,000 educational licenses.

Professor Won-bin Hong of Electrical Engineering spearheaded the donation, and the POSTECH–ANSYS CAE Computing Laboratory was established in the LG Research Building.

ANSYS software enables precise and efficient analysis across a wide range of fields, including fluid mechanics, electromagnetic fields, circuits, and materials analysis. The donation is expected to contribute significantly to advancing the university's education and research in these areas.

Date and time: Monday, February 27, 2017, 11:00–16:00

Venue: POSTECH campus, including the Grand Conference Room, International Center, Department of Electrical Engineering, and Pohang Accelerator Laboratory.

Donation: Software valued at KRW 20 billion.
