Next-Generation 5G Wireless Technology Draws Strong Industry Interest
Professor Kyungwhoon Cheun of POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering will deliver a keynote address on the morning of the 20th at the IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC). The conference is being held from the 18th through the 21st at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul.
In his lecture, “Vision, Requirements, and Key Technologies for Next-Generation 5G Wireless Communications,” Professor Cheun will discuss the wireless technologies of 5G, expected to be used in 2020; key technologies ranging from network design to communication services; and recent R&D achievements capable of meeting 5G system requirements. The presentation is attracting interest from industry, academics, and researchers.
First held by the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society in 1950, the conference has a history of more than 60 years. It covers communication systems and networks and their applications to vehicles. Approximately 500 papers will be presented at this conference.
