An FMP orientation and a conversation with professors were held for first-year undergraduates for the fall 2014 semester. The program included the presentation of appointment certificates to fall 2014 mentors, followed by a discussion with professors on the following topics:

1. Encouraging participation in FMP (10 minutes)

2. How important are foundational courses for Electrical Engineering courses? (10 minutes)

3. What did you consider most important as an undergraduate, and what did you regret most after graduating? (10 minutes)

4. How should first- and second-year students approach research participation before they have a strong understanding of their major? (10 minutes)

5. What would you say to inspire pride in the Department of Electrical Engineering? (10 minutes)

6. Other questions (10 minutes)
