Professor Won-bin Hong of the Department of Electrical Engineering has been elected vice chair of OCFK, the Korean chapter of the Internet of Things standards organization OCF (Open Connectivity Forum).

Vice chairs: Professor Won-bin Hong, POSTECH; Hee Choi, Executive Vice President, LG Electronics; and Hyeong-jun Kim, Division Head, ETRI.
In 2016, the Samsung- and Intel-led OIC consortium merged with the AllSeen Alliance, led by LG Electronics, Qualcomm, Microsoft, and others, and adopted the name OCF. With approximately 330 member companies, it has grown into the largest organization in the IoT field.
It plans to release OCF 1.0 in the first half of this year and begin promoting widespread adoption of the standard.
