Professor Hae-Wook Han of Electrical Engineering was recently selected for the top award in the 2014 SK hynix Industry–University Patent Awards.

His patent, “New Technology for Improving Light Collection Efficiency in Image Sensors Using Quantum Microlenses,” is reported to have been used in SK hynix product development.

Since 2011, the company has operated the awards to encourage patents arising from industry–university research projects. Professor Han also received an outstanding invention patent award for an industry–university research project the previous year.

The ceremony took place on the 20th at SK hynix headquarters in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. (End / EE)
