Jun-young Lee, an integrated master's/Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Jung-soo Lee, received an Outstanding Paper Award at KSDT 2018, the spring conference organized by the Korean Society of Semiconductor & Display Technology and the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, for “Analysis of Low-Frequency Noise Characteristics of Network-Channel LTPS TFT Devices.”
The paper fabricated devices with network channels in low-temperature polysilicon using electron-beam lithography and analyzed their low-frequency noise. Reduced traps yielded better electrical characteristics and more stable low-frequency noise behavior than conventional-channel devices.
The work is expected to be useful for TFTs in the display industry. The conference, themed “Semiconductor/Display Technologies Preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” took place at the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials in Daejeon and featured 62 papers.
