Seung-ho Lee, a Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Chang-gi Baek, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award (Top Excellence Award) in recognition of his excellence in the creative talent evaluation of the ICT Elite Talent Development Program.

Lee was highly regarded for his creative research ability and potential in new energy technologies using nanoscale semiconductors, including thermoelectric devices, and next-generation semiconductor devices. He was also recognized for promoting new technologies at domestic and international exhibitions and fairs.

Administered by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Promotion (IITP) under the Ministry of Science and ICT, the program develops global talent to lead future ICT-based industries through challenging, creative, independent research and interdisciplinary education grounded in ICT convergence research.

The awards ceremony took place during the opening of the ICT Future Talent Forum 2018 at COEX in Seoul on May 23.
