In-yeol Yoon, a graduate student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Yoon-young Chung, received an Outstanding Paper Award at the 2018 Summer Conference of the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers (IEIE).
Paper title: “A Low-Power Wireless Wearable Sensor for Preventing Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.”
Yoon presented a low-power wireless wearable sensor system intended to prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), a major cause of infant death. The system offers caregivers a convenient way to monitor the health of infants who cannot readily adjust their posture or communicate.
IEIE is Korea's largest academic society in ICT, with a history of over 70 years. The award was presented amid competition exceeding 16 papers per award.
