Ye-seong Kang, an integrated master's/Ph.D. student, and Yoon-ho Park and Seong-hoon Kim, master's students in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Seok-hyeong Kang, received an Outstanding Student Paper Award at the first Institute of Semiconductor Engineers Conference for “Analysis and Solution of CNN Accuracy Reduction over Channel Loop Tiling.”

The paper analyzed additional losses in CNN accuracy that can arise during quantization and loop tiling as CNN sizes increase under on-chip memory constraints, and proposed solutions.

The 2018 conference took place on December 21 at the Startup Campus in Pangyo Techno Valley under the theme “Industry–University–Research Collaboration for Intelligent Semiconductors.”
