A POSTECH Electrical Engineering team led by principal investigator Professor Kyung-Tae Kim, with Professors Hojin Song and Soohee Han, has secured an innovation-driven R&D project for a specialized research laboratory, funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT and administered by the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP). The team will establish a Radio Research Center (RRC) for next-generation multistatic imaging radar.
Professor Kim’s team was selected as one of the top four among 20 applicant teams and will receive KRW 3.9 billion over eight years. The project aims to implement a multistatic radar imaging system using drones operating in a swarm. The RRC’s opening ceremony is scheduled for June.
