Jin-soo Jeong, a master's student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Rok-hyun Baek, was selected as an Outstanding Student Researcher at the third Korea Semiconductor Research Consortium (KSRC) Awards, receiving KRW 2 million.
He worked on “Proposal and Performance Optimization of a 3D-IC Structure Using Gate-All-Around Devices and TSVs for Sub-5 nm Nodes” under the Future Semiconductor Device Core Technology Development Program, launched in June 2013 and administered by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, KEIT, and the Korea Semiconductor Research Consortium (COSAR).
The awards strengthen participating student researchers' capabilities and motivation, selecting recipients based on research ability and contributions to the program.
Eight outstanding institutions were recognized among the 144 institutions currently conducting program projects. The ceremony took place on August 26 at the Lotte Hotel in Jeju.
