Yoonho Park, a master’s graduate of POSTECH Electrical Engineering (coauthors: Yeseong Kang, Seonghun Kim, and Eunji Kwon; advisor: Professor Seokhyeong Kang), received a Best Paper Award at the 2020 Summer Conference hosted by the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science for “Real-Time Estimation of User Location and Activity Using FMCW Radar in Complex Indoor Environments.”

The paper was recognized for proposing an efficient feature-map compression method to reduce power consumption during external DRAM access caused by limited on-chip memory in CNN accelerators. ISLPED, jointly sponsored by ACM and IEEE, is a leading international conference on low-power design, held annually in North America or Europe.
