Hwanjun Cho and Chanho Park (advisor: Professor Namyoon Lee) win an Excellent Paper Award at ICTC 2020.
POSTECH Electrical Engineering graduate students Hwanjun Cho and Chanho Park submitted “Capacity-Achieving Precoding with Low-Complexity for Terahertz LOS Massive MIMO using Uniform Planar Arrays” to the 11th International Conference on ICT Convergence, held on Jeju Island on October 21–23 under the theme “Data, Network, and AI in the age of Untact.”
Their paper was selected as one of six excellent papers among 600 submissions, receiving an Excellent Paper Award.
The paper addressed the precoding design problem for terahertz line-of-sight massive MIMO systems using uniform planar arrays. For such systems, it proposed a low-complexity precoding technique that achieves MIMO channel capacity by decomposing a uniform planar array into a superposition of multiple uniform circular arrays.
