Jaeyoung Park, a combined MS/PhD student in Electrical Engineering (advisor: Professor Young-Jin Kim), was named an Outstanding Researcher by KEPCO Research Institute for his work on “Development of an Integrated Control Algorithm for Grid Frequency and Point-of-Interconnection Voltage Control Using Current-Source HVDC.”
The award recognizes key researchers in 15 outstanding projects selected from 204 externally commissioned basic research projects conducted at universities and companies nationwide in 2020.
Park developed and validated an optimal coordinated control algorithm between current-source HVDC and grid voltage support equipment to enable stable grid integration of large wind farms.
