A team led by principal investigator Professor Wonbin Hong, with Professor Wook Sung Kim of POSTECH Electrical Engineering and Professor Jungseok Oh of Seoul National University, was selected for Samsung’s 2021 B5G & 6G research theme.

The project, “Foundational Technology for Self-Tunable Integrated Active Electronic Surfaces for Sub-THz Communications,” proposes research into ubiquitous, intelligent reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) for 6G. Specifically, it will establish the concept of CORE (Cognitive Organic Reconfigurable Electronics) and develop foundational and applied technologies.

The project is expected to receive approximately KRW 1.5 billion over three years.
