A team comprising POSTECH Electrical Engineering Professors Soo-seok Choi, principal investigator, and Moon-joo Lee, UNIST Professor Myeong-hoon Song, and Korea University Professor Han-young Woo has been selected for the next-generation display theme of the Samsung Future Technology Development Program in 2021.
The project was introduced as one of five representative projects among 12 selected across six fields: advanced AI, next-generation cryptography, beyond 5G/6G, robotics, next-generation displays, and semiconductor devices/processes. See Samsung Newsroom Korea's related announcement on support for promising future technologies.
The research, “Wavelength-Tunable Pixel-Array Chiral Lasers Based on Perovskite Nanocrystals,” aims to innovate next-generation displays beyond LCD and OLED, developing light-source technologies for transformative displays and holography.
The team will receive KRW 2.4 billion over three years.
