Research by Professor Rok-hyun Baek's team in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering was selected as one of the Top Ten Nanotechnologies of 2021 in basic/core technology, nano-information electronics, at the 2021 Nano Convergence Achievements Exhibition on November 25 at the L Tower in Yangjae.

The event was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea and the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology.

Of 69 candidate achievements — 25 direct researcher submissions, 20 expert-network recommendations, and 24 research-funding-agency recommendations — 21 passed the first evaluation. Online voting and the selection committee then chose the final ten.

Established in 2017 and now in its fifth year, the program promotes public understanding and awareness of nanotechnology excellence. Candidates are identified for the exhibition and selected after comprehensive evaluation of technological impact, overlap, and other factors.
