Won-jun Choi, an undergraduate in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Byung-sub Kim, received the Top Excellence Award in the idea category at the next-generation semiconductor festival POLARIS SIF 2022 for “An On-Chip High-Speed Pulse Response Measurement Circuit.” The prize included KRW 500,000.
The entry proposed pulse-based gating and a counter to accelerate pulse-response measurements when testing high-speed links.
Compared with conventional snapshot-based measurement, the method reduces the required scan-out frequency and improves measurement speed. Because the number of scan-outs does not depend on the amount of measurement data, it also facilitates processing large datasets and improves measurement accuracy.
