Yeohun Yun, a PhD student in our department (advisor: Professor Junho Cho), will receive a Best Paper Award in the academic category at the 19th Joint Conference on Communications and Information (JCCI 2009), organized by the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences and held at the Mudeung Hotel in Gwangju from the 15th to the 17th.

His paper, “Optimal Orthogonal Overlay System Design in a Fixed MIMO Environment,” was recognized for proposing a way to add new users when existing MIMO systems already occupy the spectrum, without degrading those systems’ performance.
