Seung-sik Moon, a Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Young-joo Lee, has been selected for a 2022 IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Pre-Doctoral Grant.
The grant recognizes exceptional Ph.D. students in system semiconductor circuit design and is awarded to only a small number of students worldwide each year.
Moon was recognized for proposing numerous highly efficient digital system-on-chip designs for next-generation communications and AI, based on optimization across algorithms, system architectures, and circuit design.
He is the first Korean recipient in digital circuit design. The achievement is regarded as strengthening Korea's competitiveness in system semiconductor circuit design, a central area of global technological competition.
