Kyung-min Lee, a Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Kyung-tae Kim, received an Outstanding Paper Award at the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science's 2023 Winter Conference for “Analysis of Asynchronization in a Bistatic FMCW Radar System.”

The paper analyzed various synchronization errors that can occur in a bistatic frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar system from a signal-model perspective and examined their effects through inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging results.

The research was recognized for its precise analysis of synchronization errors in bistatic FMCW systems, an approach not previously attempted.
