Do-won Lee, a Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Moon-joo Lee, received an Outstanding Presentation Award in the oral category at the Korean Physical Society's Spring 2023 Meeting for “Real-time monitoring of the atomic motion trapped inside a high-finesse optical resonator.”
The meeting covers research in semiconductor physics, electronic physics, optics, quantum electronics, and quantum information.
In this presentation, Lee and Professor Lee's team reported successfully trapping neutral-atom qubits inside a high-finesse resonator and observing the motion of the trapped atoms. Building on these results, the team is focusing on developing resonator-based quantum networks and large-scale quantum computers.
