Youngno Yoon, a PhD student in POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering (advisor: Professor Wonbin Hong), has been selected for the 2023 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Fellowship Program.
This fellowship selects only a few recipients worldwide, and this is the first time a recipient has been selected from Korea.
Each year, IEEE AP-S awards the fellowship to advance the education of doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers with outstanding research records and strong potential for future achievements. Yoon was selected this year based on the originality of his research project proposal and the excellence of his record of approximately 70 papers and ten awards at domestic and international conferences.
His project, “Sustainable Cognitive Organic Reconfigurable Electronics (CORE),” brings together electromagnetics, displays, circuit systems, and communication engineering. It proposes a new paradigm for intelligent surfaces combining sensing and communications with a self-sustaining feedback system.
