Ph.D. Student Jong-seo Park Named an Outstanding Student Researcher at the Seventh K-CHIPS Awards

Jong-seo Park, a Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Rok-hyun Baek, was named an Outstanding Student Researcher at the seventh K-CHIPS (Korea Collaborative & High-tech Initiative for Prospective Semiconductor Research) Awards, receiving KRW 2 million.

He conducted the “Development of High-Density Racetrack Memory Technology” project under the 2022–2024 Future Semiconductor Device Core Technology Development Program administered by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, KEIT, and COSAR.

The awards develop participating students' capabilities and motivation, selecting recipients based on research outcomes and contributions to the program.

Six outstanding institutions were recognized among 81 participating research institutions. Professor Baek's team received its fifth consecutive award, following awards at the third through sixth K-CHIPS Awards.
