Articles | 2024-06-11

Associate Professor Tae-hyun Oh of POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering has received USD 10,000 in gift funding from Microsoft Research through a university collaboration program. This unconditional grant supports research on generative AI models.

Separately, he secured a collaborative research project with Microsoft Research Asia in China, including opportunities for personnel exchanges such as graduate student internships. The topic, “Small Video Generation Models,” aims to develop practical video generative model designs and training methods.

Microsoft Research leads future technology research within Microsoft and works with leading universities on AI. Alongside OpenAI, it is actively conducting R&D as a major force in the field. These two agreements are expected to expand research exchanges between Microsoft and POSTECH.
