Professor Youngjoo Lee of POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering has been selected as Secretary of the Circuits and Systems for Communications (CASCOM) Technical Committee, one of the major technical committees of the IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society.
CASCOM leads advances in analog and digital circuit design to improve wired and wireless communication quality, with more than 100 experts participating from around the world. Recently, it has expanded its research scope to IoT sensor networks, cryptographic and security signal processing, and AI-based communication signal processing, offering new perspectives on communication-system hardware design.
Professor Lee was elected TC Secretary for 2025–2026 in recognition of his many years of world-class achievements in digital baseband signal processing and error-correcting-code hardware design for wired and wireless communication systems. He will subsequently serve as TC Chair-Elect in 2027–2028 and TC Chair in 2029–2030.
By helping guide the development of communication circuit design as diverse new design technologies are incorporated, he is expected to contribute to advancing Korea’s digital system semiconductor design capabilities.
