[Award] Ph.D. Student Gi-hoon Nam Named an Outstanding Student Researcher at the Eighth K-CHIPS Awards

Gi-hoon Nam, a Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Rok-hyun Baek, received the Outstanding Student Researcher Award and KRW 2 million at the eighth K-CHIPS Awards.

He worked on “Development of High-Mobility Channel/Dielectric Materials and an AI-Based Large-Scale Analysis Platform for Ultrahigh-Layer-Count 3D NAND Memory” under the 2023–2032 Public–Private Joint Investment Program for Advanced Semiconductor Talent Development, administered by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, KEIT, and COSAR.

The awards strengthen participating students' capabilities and motivation by evaluating research outcomes and contributions to the program.

Seven institutions were recognized among 94 participating institutions. Professor Baek's team received its sixth consecutive award, following the third through seventh K-CHIPS Awards.
