Professor Ki-hong Lim's research team in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering received an Outstanding Paper Award at the recently held KICS Fall Conference.

The team attracted attention with “Low-Complexity Iterative Channel Estimation for OFDM over Amplify-and-Forward Relaying Channels,” by Moon-geun Song, Tae-won Yoon, Dong-sik Kim, and Ki-hong Lim. The paper proposed a cooperative-communication channel estimation method for OFDM, a multicarrier technique being studied for next-generation mobile communications.

The results were regarded as substantially improving the reliability and coverage of mobile internet services for smartphones and other mobile terminals.

Only three of approximately 500 papers at the conference received Outstanding Paper Awards.
