Dongseop Lee, an integrated MS/PhD student in POSTECH Electrical Engineering (co-first author; advisor: Professor Wonbin Hong), received an Honorable Mention of Best Paper Award at the 2024 IEEE MTT-S Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference for “A Study on the Influence of Metal Mesh Design on a Transparent Antenna on Display for Radar and Communication Using Ultra Fine Mesh Film.” This is the group’s first award at APMC.
APMC, associated with the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, is the largest international conference gathering researchers and engineers across the Asia-Pacific in radio, microwave, millimeter-wave, and related technologies. This year it was held in Bali, Indonesia.
The paper attracted attention for innovative transparent antenna design using ultrafine metal mesh film and its potential for next-generation radar and communication applications. By systematically analyzing how metal mesh design affects transparent antenna performance and integrated display technology, it demonstrated a potentially significant contribution to future communication and radar technologies, earning the Honorable Mention.
