Professor Byungsub Kim’s team in POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering, comprising integrated MS/PhD student Changjae Moon and doctoral graduates Minsu Choi (now at Marvell Technology) and Myungkook Lee (now at Samsung Electronics), has gained international recognition by publishing an invited review in the Open Journal of the Solid-State Circuits Society (OJ-SSCS).

Established by IEEE SSCS in 2020, OJ-SSCS is an open-access solid-state circuits journal emphasizing transistor-level integrated circuit design. The invitation is particularly meaningful because leading research teams were carefully selected to strengthen the new journal’s academic standing.

The team’s paper, “Review on Resistive Termination Techniques Driven by Wireline Channel Behaviors,” comprehensively analyzes resistive termination technologies essential to high-speed data transmission system design and systematically organizes design methodologies.

The team’s “relaxed impedance matching” technique maintains signal quality while easing conventional strict impedance-matching requirements. It was highly regarded for its practical value in providing designers with greater flexibility.
