Professor Seokhyeong Kang of POSTECH Electrical Engineering received the Haedong Semiconductor Engineering Academic Award at the Semiconductor Technology Roadmap Forum and General Assembly held on the 11th.
One of Korea’s most prestigious semiconductor awards, it was established according to the wishes of the late Daeduck Electronics Chairman Jeong-Sik Kim to advance scholarship and technology through talent development.
Professor Kang was honored for academic and industrial contributions to electronic design automation. His research includes more than 100 papers at DAC, ICCAD, and other venues and over 2,200 citations.
His international recognition includes the ACM/IEEE ASP-DAC 10-Year Retrospective Most Influential Paper Award, Best Paper Award at ACM/IEEE ISLPED 2020, and CAD Contest Awards.
Through collaboration with Samsung, SK hynix, LG Display, Intel, Google, and Qualcomm, his research has been widely applied across industry, helping Korea maintain global competitiveness in design automation.
He credited the students and colleagues who worked with him and said he would continue striving to advance Korea’s semiconductor technologies.
