[Award] Su-jin Kang Receives an Outstanding Paper Award at the 2025 Power Electronics Conference

Awards | 2025-08-07

Su-jin Kang, an integrated master's/Ph.D. student in POSTECH's Department of Electrical Engineering advised by Professor Soo-yong Chae, received an Outstanding Paper Award at the 2025 Power Electronics Conference organized by the Korean Institute of Power Electronics for “An Open-Circuit Switch Fault Detection Algorithm for a Full-Bridge LLC Resonant Converter Based on Resonant Capacitor Voltage.”

The paper proposed a two-stage algorithm to detect open-circuit switch faults in full-bridge LLC resonant converters and identify the faulty switch. The algorithm enables real-time detection using a single voltage sensor and can operate at high switching frequencies using analog circuitry without a high-speed ADC.

It is expected to be useful in various high-reliability power conversion systems.

The 29th Power Electronics Conference drew approximately 1,100 participants and featured 408 papers.
