It was announced on the 25th that Professor Yoon-ha Jeong of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Director of the Future IT Innovation Laboratory and Chair of Creative IT Engineering, had been named a Fellow of IEEE, its highest honor.
He was recognized for outstanding achievements in research and development of single-electron and high-speed electron transistors. He was also appointed to the IEEE Electron Devices Society's executive committee and will participate in the operation of that society and the Nanotechnology Council.
His work on single-electron transistors, delta-doped high-speed electron transistors, and nanowire devices and circuits has contributed greatly to advancing Korea's nanoscale semiconductor technology to world-class standards.
IEEE, the world's largest society in electrical/electronic engineering and computing, annually selects Fellows through rigorous review from no more than 0.1% of members with outstanding research achievements.
